Leyard & Sanxingdui Unveil China’ s First-of-its-Kind Interactive Omni-Audio LED Dome Theater

Leyard has partnered with Sanxingdui to launch Echoes of Heaven and Earth, China’s pioneering interactive omni-audio LED dome theater. The project revives the 3,000-year-old ancient Shu civilization in a digital realm, setting a benchmark for integrated culture-and-technology applications.

A Ground-breaking Immersive Cultural Venue

As a core component of Sanxingdui Museum’s digital strategy, Echoes of Heaven and Earth delivers a one-of-a-kind 3D immersive experience that combines visual, audio and interactive elements.

Powered by Leyard’s world-leading LED display technology, the massive dome ranks among the largest museum-based domes across China. Within its 20-meter-diameter space, 7,468 LED modules are seamlessly assembled to form a nearly 400-square-meter continuous visual surface. Supported by nearly 16K ultra-high-definition output, the system renders intricate artifact details and cosmic spectacles with striking clarity.

Visitors recline on custom soft seats to step into the ancient Shu world. Vast starry skies, exquisite bronze relics, natural soundscapes and ancient beliefs unfold overhead. Technology enables audiences to perceive, understand and carry forward this long-lost heritage.

Three Acts: Journey Through Ancient Shu Civilization

1
Stellar Revelation: Visitors interact via digital torches. Waving the torches triggers soaring sacred birds and shooting stars across the dome, recreating the sacrificial rituals of ancient Shu ancestors.
2
Resonance of Relics: Acoustics derived from pottery, gold, jade and bronze artifacts blend with natural sounds of wind, thunder and rainfall, forming a millennium-spanning symphony.
3
Light for All: Scenes track sunrise, solar eclipse and light breaking through primeval chaos. Chants from bronze masks interweave with suona melodies accompanying flying sacred birds, vividly showcasing ancient Shu people’s devout worship of the sun.

Echoes of Heaven and Earth represents an innovative museum model merging technology, archaeology and exhibition. Combining Leyard’s display expertise with Sanxingdui’s digital artifact archives, the installation brings static relics to life and builds cross-temporal cultural dialogue. It offers a replicable, scalable blueprint for digital preservation of cultural heritage.

Digital technology acts as a bridge linking past and future, allowing millennia-old civilizations to shine vibrantly in the digital age.
